Product concept / UV-C hygiene layer

A handheld UV-C device for everyday surfaces.

LumoGlide is moved directly over materials and flat surfaces. It adds a fast, dry and repeatable hygiene procedure between regular cleaning and chemical disinfection.

20 cm/s target movement speed used for dose estimation
5 mJ/cm² estimated UV-C dose in the current concept
Dry no spray, no wet residue, no waiting for drying

User problem

Everyday surfaces are often touched, but not easy to wash or disinfect quickly.

Clothes, pillows, sofas, kitchen countertops, massage beds or car seats require a simple procedure that can be repeated often without moisture, chemicals or a complicated setup.

🧽

Soft materials

Hard to clean quickly between full washing cycles.

Chemical fatigue

Sprays can leave odor, residue or irritation.

🏠

Home peace of mind

Extra hygiene layer when family members are sick.

💼

Business trust

Visible procedure that communicates hygiene to customers.

Operating principle

Move over the surface. UV-C acts underneath.

UV-C light is directed downward and intended to be active only while the device is moving. The goal is to reduce microorganisms by damaging their DNA/RNA so they are no longer able to reproduce.

1

Direct surface movement

The user moves LumoGlide directly over the surface or material.

2

Motion-controlled UV-C

UV-C works only during movement, supporting dose control and safety logic.

3

Microorganism reduction

Light exposure reduces bacteria, viruses and fungi depending on organism and test conditions.

Product-focused design: simple outside, controlled inside.

The one-pager should make the product understandable before it goes into technical detail.

UV

3 × UV-C LED windows

Downward-facing emission, designed to illuminate the surface under the device.

Motion sensor

Measures movement so exposure can be related to speed and time over the surface.

LED strip indicator

A violet status ring gives the device a recognizable premium visual signature.

C

USB-C charging

Consumer-friendly charging for an integrated battery-powered handheld product.

Ergonomic mouse-like shape

Familiar hand movement makes the cleaning action simple and repeatable.

Use case & estimated dose

5 mJ/cm² UV-C

At a movement speed of 20 cm/s, the current concept estimates a UV-C dose suitable for first validation messaging.

Enveloped viruses
97.8%
E. coli / S. aureus
94.4%
Non-enveloped viruses
76%
Highly resistant viruses
37%
Mold spores
11%

Expected reduction of microorganisms strongly depends on the specific microorganism, surface type, dose uniformity and test conditions.

Home and professional applications.

Frequently touched surfaces that require a fast, simple and repeatable hygiene procedure.

LumoGlide use case on a pillow

Pillow 50 × 40 cm

About 50 seconds.

LumoGlide use case on a couch

Couch 120 × 60 cm

About 2 minutes.

LumoGlide use case on a kitchen countertop

Kitchen countertop

About 4 min 30 s.

LumoGlide use case on a car seat

Car seat 50 × 50 cm

About 40 seconds.

Positioned between everyday cleaning and full chemical disinfection.

The page should avoid overclaiming: LumoGlide does not remove visible dirt and does not guarantee full sterilization.

LumoGlide

  • Dry process, no wet residue
  • Seconds to minutes, depending on surface
  • UV-C directed downward
  • Simple repeatable motion
  • Not a replacement for removing dirt, stains or grease

Chemicals

  • Effective when used correctly
  • Requires wet contact time
  • Can leave odor, residue or stains
  • May irritate skin or eyes
  • Can affect some materials

UV lamps

  • Effective under correct exposure
  • Often requires longer process time
  • People must leave the room
  • Uneven exposure risk
  • Larger device footprint
